We understand you have many choices for funny tee shirts, however we think you’ll agree, our shirts exceed any other line available. Many competitors offer simple designs or just copy on grey, white, or black shirts. That’s not Giggle Wear, and were betting that’s not you either. My childhood included making and selling lemonade with a splash of Kool-Aid (that was my secret) or from having a garage sale every year where I would sell last year’s toys.. The point is, I have always thought of ways to reinvent the wheel. Like many of you, I wake up and put on a tee shirt. I often found myself tired of wearing just plain white tee shirts. So I started adding colored shirts to my wardrobe. That was fine for a few months, but that also got boring. I was walking through a higher end stores one day and saw a shirt that caught my eye. It was a funny saying tee shirt. I giggled as I read it and quickly grabbed it of the rack. Little did I realize that shirt was over $65.00. I wore it that night and enjoyed the reaction I and it received. I decided to look for some more shirts online that would hopefully be more reasonably priced. I found more reasonably priced shirts all right; in fact I could get some for as low as $15.00 bucks. I ordered a couple on the spot. Once again being naïve, I didn’t realize all these shirts were horrible quality; they faded after one wash, shrank so bad I had to toss it, and were generally shitty quality. I also could not believe the lack of options for these shirts. Most tee shirts were being sold as white, grey, black, or blue basic $4.00 shirts with a saying printed across it.
So being the entrepreneur, I once again decided to build a better mousetrap. I wanted to create a line of comedic sayings on higher end clothing, with original designs and high quality printing and embroidery for a fair price. I had the concept down and one night I sat down and started writing down funny thoughts for shirts. Before I knew it, I had 50 sayings on paper. I quickly started reading some of them to my friends to judge their reactions. I was extremely proud when one of my sayings made people laugh or giggle out loud. As my excitement started to grow, I had to think of a clever name that was catchy and easy to remember.
Then it hit me, “Giggle Wear” I thought it was direct and to the point. I then started spending hours with designers, both fashion, and desktop. We started finding high high-end shirts from American Apparel, to Next level to name a few. Shirts that we felt were cool, a little different, and certainly way higher quality than our competitors. The evolution of the Giggle Wear was in motion. I bought 20 shirts from different manufactures, each one unique, and each design was custom designed for its individual shirt. I could not wait to wear them to discover peoples’ reactions. My hopes could not predict the outcome.
I found myself literally being stopped on the street by both men, and women asking where I got my shirt. I proudly turned and showed them the back of the shirt. (I envisioned these shirts becoming popular and I wanted people to know the brand first of all, and secondly where they could get them. So on every shirt, Giggle Wear.net is printed eloquently on the back.)
Last week, I wore a new shirt from Giggle Wear with the thermal layering sewn into the shirt at a Chicago Bears game (GO BEARS!). It was a black and white shirt with large red type that says “Free Breathalyzer” with an arrow pointing down. I stopped counting at 62 people who laughed so hard they went up to a perfect stranger and asked where I got my shirt. Needless to say it’s a pretty great feeling to see the out come from one of our shirts. I hope you will enjoy wearing them as much as our team has from its inception.
